FAQs

sounds great, how do I get more info and book a session?

Reach out to me with any questions and to schedule a session. I don’t currently have direct booking set up on the website because I feel it’s critical to learn about the student’s background and goals to best recommend a session structure and approach.

Once we’ve settled on date and time, completion of a League of American Bicyclists Course Registration & Release and a deposit will hold the slot.

where do you conduct learn-to-ride sessions?

I have a couple sites in Lewisboro, New York near Katonah and Goldens Bridge that I have found to be safe, controlled environments for learning. If these sites may not be available (e.g., community team sports activities) or convenient to your location, I will work with you to assess options with student safety foremost in mind.

what do i bring and wear to learn-to-ride sessions?

Bring a working bicycle, helmet, and water. Wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes. Sunscreen and a snack are also helpful to have on-hand.

I can’t make it / it’s raining!

Kindly reach out to me as soon as possible and we’ll coordinate a new session. As far as weather, I will be in contact with you if the forecast is questionable or it looks to be a washout.

will i / my kid / my student be riding after one session?

While I have had students riding circles around me at the end of their first session, it may take a few sessions to build confidence and comfort. I will discuss progress and recommendations at the end of the session with the student and/or chaperone.
